Gotland – Hallfreda

Southeast of Visby on Gotland you will find our trial station Hallfreda. Surrounded by Östersjön the weather here is evened with mild winters and dry summers with long days and many sun hours. On Gotland you find a limestone bedrock resulting in a high pH-value, making the soil conditions very diverse from most other parts of Sweden.
The soils vary from clay to sandy soils, organic to pure mineral soils, in addition to the moraine soils which are important for animal production and vegetable cultivation.

On the trial station Hallfreda equipment made for special vegetation systems and field trials are invested in securing you precision in your high-quality trials.

The diversity of the island is also shown in the many crops that are grown here and that trials can be performed in. Common crops in this region;
