Gotland – Hallfreda
Southeast of Visby on Gotland you will find our trial station Hallfreda. On Gotland you find a limestone bedrock resulting in a high pH-value, making the soil conditions very diverse from most other parts of Sweden. The soils vary from clay to sandy soils, organic to pure mineral soils. In addition, the moraine soils which are important for animal production and vegetable cultivation. Surrounded by Östersjön the island has mild winters and dry summers with long days and many sun hours.
On the trial station Hallfreda you find equipment made for special vegetation systems and field trials, securing you precision in your high-quality trials.
The diversity of the island is also shown in the many crops that are grown here and that trials can be performed in. Common crops in this region;
